The Weekend Mix isn't simply for party rocking mixes, sometimes, you gotta rock your mind!

By Inti J. aka DJ 1

It is quite easy to get carried away with the Weekend Mix and feature party rocking mixes weekend after weekend, but the Weekend Mix is about more than that. Whether it’s from well known established stars or from unknown basement DJs, the objective of the Weekend Mix is to feature the mix itself. Yes, sometimes it’s intended to fuel a festive holiday weekend, others might reflect the mood of the nation, or sometimes, like this weekend’s featured mix, it's simply about the art of the mix itself.

DJ Loose Body Parts is from Esch-sur-Alzette, Luxembourg, and like many of the unknown European cats we’ve featured on Weekend Mix, he seems to have an understanding of Hip Hop that many even here in the states don’t have. Not only does he lace classics like Eric B. & Rakim’s “Paid In Full” or Jeru the Damaja’s “Come clean” and Gangstarr’s “The Planet” with wicked beats that will easily snap your neck, but the overall music selection including cuts or simply the beats from the likes of Led Zeppelin, Portishead, AC/DC, U2, and the creativity involved in bringing it all together is simply outstanding.

Now, all this creativity doesn’t mean this mix can’t serve as your soundtrack as you go on your club hopping adventures this weekend. On the contrary, this mix will get you hype and possibly snap your neck with its amazing playlists, but it will also get your head spinning with its creativity, what more could you ask for.
