I love the Weekend Mix because it's a good opportunity to showcase some unknown talent. While digging through the digital crates you come across some very funky stuff, both the good and the bad kind. Mostly though, you come across some very good, surprising mixes and like this weekends selection you come across something that just sounds fresh.

I'm not sure if Bronx Van DeepSoulful is a pro, I admit there are moments in the mix you can hear just that but he manages to put together a very mellow mix of some nice down tempo House grooves and in effect creates a very light and airy mix that just works. All you new jack DJ's out there, take note. Selection and overall vibe is key. In this mix, it's clear that BVD has his narrative and he sticks to it. So, to all you newbies out there that take the craft seriously, I say keep doing your thing, practice, and take a listen to one of your brethren doing his. And let's hope you keep doing it BVD. Big ups!
