Who said Disco is dead? A bunch of record burning red necks? F them! Now, let's boogie on down!

By DJ 1

Back in 1979, a bunch of Disco hating red necks showed up at Comiskey Park in Chicago, collected a bunch of Disco records (actually, it was all types of Black music), threw them in a pile, and blew them up, in an attempt to "kill Disco"! Well Fuck them! Fuck them all!

Excuse the harsh language, but it's obvious to anyone who remembers this event, or simply looks it up, that this promotional event was a guise for rascists to act out, and well, they had their opportunity, that one night.

Those who study American pop culture, or have half a brain, know that Disco never really died. Disco birthed House Music and if you will, you can call Disco the Grandmother of the Electronic music of today. So, again, F those rascist and let's boogy on down.

This Weekend Mix is a mix of Disco gems from the likes of Boney M, The Nick Straker Band, and more contemporary figures such as Dimitri From Paris, all mixed expertly by Portuguese DJ Humberto Matias. If you're new to the Disco sound, then pump this and get acquainted. If you lived the original Disco era you will undoubtedly boogie on down to this mix, and you now have a great opportunity to show your kids how to do the Hustle!
